In 1992 Samael unleashed their second album, "Blood ritual". Focusing more on atmosphere and sulphurous vibes, the Swiss band left the savage brutality of the debut to land on the shores of darkness and ritualistic sounds. This album is an opus to the horned one, with the unstoppable mid paced march that will be Samael trademark through this phase of their career. Taking their influences from Celtic Frost, Candlemass and first wave black metal, they crafted a one of a kind beast, capable to stand out in an already crowded scene. This is one of the best Samael efforts and hands down one of the best black metal albums ever made, with its uniqueness and dark atmosphere making it shine liek the malignant jewel it is.
