Impaled has gotten us used to some of the finest gore death metal. This release is certainly no exception. They keep playing in the same (jugular) vein. They don't need to change their style, for they have found the kind of gore metal that best suits them. And the new member (Jason Kocol) is as good as his predecessors. Actually, he has added something to the band: when we listen to the song "Wrought in Hell", we easily realize that the band has gone beyond in its harmonical techniques: this means they have improved musically. Moreover, in Death after Life the structure of the songs is better composed than in Impaled's masterpiece Mondo Medicale. If you like Death Metal and Grindcore at all, you MUST get this album right away! Recommended to fans of EXHUMED, CARCASS, GENERAL SURGERY, ABORTED.
