Killer Hardcore with that special early 80's blend of pissed-offedness and a kind of pathos. Short, fast, loud punk with a dash of Misfits style horror. These guys were kinda like the Black Flag or the Minor Threat of the Midwest. The music is a nervous breakdown being so out of step, but really it's like a great blend of early Black Flag grit and Minor Threat's killer chord progressions. "Conquest for death" (1983) is their high point. More diverse than the early singles while still keeping the punk energy, unlike their later cross-over attempts at being metal leaning punk.
Don't miss this record if you like punk or hardcore. It's not generic at all, these guys had their own sound. All kinds of tempo changes, hooks galore, and great lyrics. Play louder for increased aural devastation!!
